Welcome to Mrs. Custer's Teacher Page!
About Me:
-
I am a Johnstown native and 2006 graduate of Richland High School
-
I am a 2010 alumna of Shippensburg University with a major in social studies education and a minor in political science
-
I completed my master's degree in English education in the spring of 2017 from IUP
-
Before my time at Conemaugh Township I taught social studies and English from August 2013 until January of 2017 at Lenape Technical School in Ford City, PA. Lenape is a comprehensive vo-tech, which means that my students received both vocational and academic classes in one building.
- During the 2018-2019 school year at CT I will be teaching:
-
Global Studies II
-
Civics 9
-
Psychology
-
Sociology
-
-
I'm also the advisor for the Gifted Program for grades 8-12. I work with Mr. Kelly Kramer who covers grades 6 and 7.
-
I am co-advisor of the speech team with Señora O'Donnell.
-
My husband, Mitchell, is also a teacher; he is the band director for grades 7-12 at Forest Hills.
-
In my spare time I like to read, eat, and spend time outdoors running or hiking.
-
Mitch and I live in Westmont with our sweet Schnauzer, Libby, and our continuously fickle grey cat, Nimbus.

Although I was initially sad to leave my home at Lenape Tech, I have absolutely fallen in love with my work at Conemaugh Township. We have the most warm, accepting, and loving community and I am so grateful for the opportunity to teach here. I am privileged to know wonderful students and to work with such a fabulous faculty and staff. I look forward to another amazing year!
